Founded in 1987 as Neville Johnson, the company successfully developed its operating model of omni-channel marketing, bespoke designs, quality installation and in-house manufacturing.
In 2011, the Tom Howley kitchen brand was added to the portfolio and using the proven model BHID has grown the brand more than 10x until it has become the clear market leader in the UK. The London Door Company was acquired in 2018 as the latest brand to complement its existing high-end residential products.

Since Alcuin’s investment we have helped the BHID team develop the kitchen business significantly, double the number of showrooms nationally, and purchase the London Door Company. Revenues have grown consistently at a CAGR of over 10%. The business has already generated material returns to Alcuin and continues to grow strongly.
